Shay, my first grandson, wasn’t due to come into this world until January 23rd. Nobody was ready! My daughter Marni and my son-in-law, Shawn weren’t ready. They still had things to do in preparation for the baby! It was the evening of January 6 and I was out with my girlfriend Marjie when the call came. “Mom, I’m on my way to the hospital. I think I’m having the baby tonight. I was just about to take a sip of my Manhattan! That wasn’t happening! I was a nervous wreck. I had to get to the hospital! Thank god for best friends! Marjie drove to the hospital and I was so happy she was with me. She knows me so well and she knew how excited and nervous I was. No signs of MS and Parkinsons that night. I rose for this special occasion. I was so excited that I was allowed in the delivery room with Marni and Shawn. I watched the whole C section! It was so surreal! As the doctor pulled this miracle baby boy out of Marni, the tears started coming. Tears of joy, especially when he let out a big cry. We were all relieved! He was so perfect and so beautiful!jPI guess I never realized what an impact that this baby, my first grandchild, would have on my health! When I am with him, I feel so blessed! I love watching my daughter being a mother! I didn’t give in to any neurological challenges that I have! What symptoms? They melt away when I am with Shay! It is incredible that symptoms go away when you are happy! I have so much energy when I am around my new grandson. Is that a part of functional medicine? Everything is working better! Do I still have to take my prescribed medication or is Shay my medication. He is perfect and so unconditional.

Shay Madden, thanks for coming into our lives! We love you to the moon and back! You don’t know how much your are helping Gamzy(me) feel good.
